Stronger Minds, Safer Sites Network
Stronger Minds, Safer Sites Network is a peer-led professional network created under Cavalier Health, designed for people who support others in high-pressure, male-dominated industries (originally construction, now broader).
In plain terms, it’s:
A safe, structured space for people who hold responsibility for others’ wellbeing
A place to think, learn, and reflect — without pressure to perform or fix
A network that recognises that supporting others can be isolating
A blend of mental health insight, lived experience, and practical tools
Who it’s for
The network is particularly valuable for:
Mental Health First Aiders
Leaders, managers, and supervisors
Health & Safety, HR, and people-focused roles
Mental Health First Aiders are often given initial training but little or no follow-up support, despite not being trained professionals and regularly holding difficult conversations.
This network provides ongoing learning, reflection, and peer support, helping them feel clearer about their role, boundaries, and confidence over time.
What makes it work
Rather than one-off sessions, the network offers:
Honest conversations grounded in real experience
Short, focused learning inputs that build skills and understanding
Real-world application, not theory for theory’s sake
Peer support without pressure
Space to be both human and professional
Learning and reflection sit side by side — practical, grounded, and realistic.
How it works
Monthly meetings, in person and online
Consistent time and structure, so trust can build
Topics linked to real workplace challenges, including:
Burnout and emotional load
Boundaries and role clarity
Grief and loss
Leadership and culture
Neurodiversity and ADHD
Menopause and mental health
It’s a growing community where people don’t need to explain why this matters — everyone already understands the weight of supporting others.
The core idea
If we want safer sites, healthier teams, and better leadership,
we have to look after the people doing the looking after.
Membership Options
Don’t just take my word for it:
“Fantastic event and great to meet and speak to so many like minded people and mental health advocates when it comes to physical and mental health and wellbeing especially in the construction sector. Thank you Cavalier Health Ltd and hosted by the amazing Lizzie . Looking forward to the next one”
- Neil - Menfulness
“Just wanted to drop you a quick line, saying how much I enjoyed the session this morning. I'll certainly be coming to more of them.
Sometimes, it's better when it's a smaller group as you just get to share things across the group and end up speaking to more people.”
- Grant - Equality Gold
“A space to be able to discuss openly, where everyone is in the same position and wants to help each other.
But also an option to Network with other businesses whilst doing something positive.”
-Rachael - AMO Group
“I'm only looking to identify poor mental health and signpost people to useful resources, so knowing Lizzie and Cavalier exists and that you understand the transition into "civvy street" means I can send people over knowing they'll be in great hands.”
- Charlie - Front Row Support
