I took angel the vet last week the vet said it was conjunctivits and i got drops for her its looking ok and i was happy about it untill i was outside the doctors with angel waiting for my daughter and a woman came over and asked could she pet her ( which makes a change as most dont even ask before they stick there hand out and pet her) i said no as she has a infection to which she said oh my dog dog had that and it lost a eye really? its got me worried she said go the vets and get some test done to make sure its nothing more than conjunctivits do i need to? im so paranoid my husband wont take her for a walk with me because i wont let anyone pet her my point is i dont want stangers touching her i dont know what they have been doing with there hands and i know pups are cute and all but i dont want her to think all stangers are ok and its always in the back of my mind that someone might try and take her am i wrong for thinking this way any help my husband and i fight over it all the time and what is a buster collar?

Another name for a buster collar is an Elizabethan collar - think of those huge ruffs QE one used to wear. Stops paws going in eyes, or face rubbing irritations.
And no, if your vet says it's conjunctivitis and you're treating it appropriately, you don't need any more tests doing. I imagine it will clear up pretty swiftly - and obviously if it doesn't then you can go back. You have absolutely no way of knowing what happened with the 'kindly' stranger's dog ... it may have been an infection that was left for far too long before any treatment was sought. Angel obviously has the true Cavalier temperament - every new person is a gift just for her! If you don't want people touching her, develop a technique for it when out walking ... say something like, "Oh thanks for the compliment, but she's young and untrained and I'm trying to get her to walk properly on the lead. Perhaps if we see you next time?" and walk on. It's fair to say though that she's unlikely to pick up any infection from the hands of a stranger, and the last thing you want is for her to be fearful of people. A Cavalier can open up whole new worlds of new people for all of you! Your fear of theft is just a reflection of how fond of her you are ... yes, it can happen, but I'm sure she's never out on her own, is she? Has she been microchipped? Puppyhood goes by very fast - enjoy it while you've got it!

No, it's probably her line of sight ... all she can see without craning upwards is a bunch of legs and feet!
