Firstly Congratulation for making Judy an 'honest woman' after all those years Rod. When was the wedding ( I bet fairly close in date to mine )

Seriously though... Although potential new puppy owners are a little over awed at the first interview stage, I believe they do take on board what the Health Certificates signify. I always ask them to make notes when they get home, and to add things they think about over the next two to three weeks before we have our next meeting. That way if they're puzzled about anything, or had forgotten to ask something because of the excitement of seeing the litter and meeting the Cavalier family, we can cover that ground again either by phone, email, or an additional visit.

Kind regards,
Veronica.... who was also a 'bride' once, but rather a long time ago

Oh, Veronica, I almost always refer to Judy as my bride! It's a term of endearment I've used since 1991, believe it or not. For the next two years, I worked to disabuse her of wanting a Poodle, by showing her my parents' stack of twenty Cavalier club yearbooks and piles of quarterly magazines. Finally, in November 1993, on our second wedding anniversary, we visited a Cavalier breeder in Suffolk, Virginia and met a less-than-a-day-old tri-color Cavalier puppy named Orlando (by his breeder, just by Providential coincidence) which, twelve weeks later, became the first Cavalier we shared together.

Judy took a very active role in educating pet owners about mitral valve disease, including having a couple of our dogs featured on "Ask the Veterinarian", a live, two-hour nationwide cable television program on America's Health Network in 1997. She went on to serve as the CKCSC,USA's first Health Registry secretary and campaigned for the MVD breeding protocol.

I can just imagine what it must be like to attend a Veronica Hull seminar on Cavaliers, their care and health, and then take the pop quiz at the next meeting!
